NRB ’08

Last Wednesday, at o-dark-early in the morning, I got back from the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Nashville, TN.  It was an absolutely amazing trip, full of great contacts, wonderful entertainment, and a lot of hard work.  Here are a few brief details from the trip…

We stayed in the Gaylord Opryland Resort, just a short drive from the airport … and the same building as the convention center.  It made commuting to the exhibit floor simple.  The hotel itself was huge.  In the words of our emcee for the weekend, “to call this place a hotel would be like calling the Grand Canyon a drainage ditch.”  He wasn’t kidding.

In addition to over 2,800 guest rooms, the hotel boasts several restaurants, the only “Vegas-style” nightclub in Tennessee, and 9 acres of glass-covered atrium space.  Truly a destination for anyone, and a great place to stay for any convention goer.  The hotel was so nice that I didn’t realize until Tuesday that I had not set foot outside since arriving on Friday.  How’s that for comfort?  Following are some images I snapped while at the resort:

First off is the hotel room the three of us were camped in for the weekend. Two queen beds + a rollaway.

Next is the registration arena outside the main ballroom/meeting area for the convention. This place always had a buzz about it - even at 1am when we showed up hoping to find a few extra maps!

The resort has 3 covered atriums.

For me, the high point of the trip was the Monday night concert.
